Museums

Andover and Romsey celebrate their heritage through
the provision of visitor attractions. The Andover Museum and Museum
of the Iron Age offers a journey through time based on local
history as well as the regionally significant archaeological story
of Danebury Ring – the Iron Age settlement.

The Romsey and Heritage Visitor Centre embraces three
buildings that span 750 years of history. Dating from the 13th
Century, King John's House was once a major building within a
medieval complex. Tudor cottage offers the comfort of a traditional
tea room, whilst a recently refurbished Victorian museum completes
this trek through time.

The Arts and Heritage function supports the museum and
heritage provision within the borough and has in place a Joint
Management Committee and partnership agreements for effective and
quality service delivery. Parts of the Andover museum are subject
to the Council's Key Performance Indicators and this information is
available to the public for general inspection.
