Accessibility Standard AA
Test Valley Borough Council aims to make this website
accessible to all users and as a result follows certain standards
and Government guidelines to ensure that this site can be used as
effectively and easily as possible by everyone.
The site has been designed to conform to the World Wide Web
Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative's 'AA' standard. You
can find details about this standard using the following link to
the
World Wide Web Consortium website

Helping web users to see and hear our web pages
This facility is provided to make it
easier for those with visual impairment, particularly, to read
content - it aims to make text clearer and where this does not
completely meet a users' needs, you may also listen to the content
you select.
See the Help section for more information about Dixerit
Plus or select one of the links below:
The website includes Access Keys
providing keyboard short-cuts to main site navigation topic
headings. More
information about Access Keys on this site.
Most of the webpages are designed to be
used with screenreaders, so that visually impaired users can easily
access the content and navigate the site.
If you find the text size on this website
is too small or too large for you to read comfortably, you can
change the size of the text via your browser. If you need
help on how to do this, have a look at our
detailed
guide on how to do it on all major browsers.
The 'Text Only' button at the top of each
page, re-issues the website, providing a high contrast site without
the heavy visual formatting and imagery, although you will still be
able to see any text associated with the image. The "text only"
version website: loads more quickly and is compatible with Screen
Readers for people with visual impairments.
Links from this site should not generally
open in a new window. While a new window has commonly been seen as
the more logical and accessible way of providing links to external
sites, recent research - supported by the W3C - has shown opening
extra windows for new content can actually be more disorientating -
(WAIG 1.0 level 2, priority 10.1). All external
links should clearly be marked as such.
