NOTICE OF BALLOT

PROPOSED BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT FOR ANDOVER

 

This is to give notice that a ballot is to be held on the proposal of the Andover BID to introduce a Business

Improvement District (BID) for Andover.

 

The ballot will be conducted on behalf of the Ballot Holder, entirely by post by the Independent Scrutineer,

Electoral Reform Services of 33 Clarendon Road, London N8 0NW. Ballot Papers will be sent to those eligible to vote on Monday 8 October 2018 for return to them by no later than 5pm on Thursday 8 November 2018 (the “day of the ballot”). Ballot papers may also be posted in a ballot box situated in Andover Library, 53 Chantry Street, The Chantry Centre, during library opening hours (10am-4pm Saturday, and Monday – Thursday and 11.30am – 4pm Friday). Any ballot papers delivered to the Library must be delivered by 4pm on Thursday 8 November 2018 to be counted.

 

Who can vote in the BID Ballot?

Persons eligible to vote in the ballot will be the non-domestic ratepayer for each hereditament (business premises) situated in the geographical area of the proposed BID where the rateable value is £10,000 or more, as listed on the Council’s database as at the date of this Notice. Each person entitled to vote in this ballot shall have one vote in respect of each hereditament occupied or (if unoccupied) owned by them in the geographical area of the proposed BID.

 

The BID Proposer is Andover BID Steering Group, c/o CMS, Masters House, 19 Lower Brook Street, Ipswich, IP4 1AQ.
