This is an exciting role for someone who is just starting or looking to continue their career in planning. If you’re a graduate in planning or a related environmental subject, such as geography, or have relevant work experience, we’d like to hear from you.
Joining our team, you’ll work on a range of projects and have the opportunity to help implement the Council’s current policies and proposals which seek to improve the quality of life of all people in our area and realise the potential of our communities.
You will also contribute to the creation of our next Local Plan through producing evidence to back up our policies on housing, employment and the environment, as well as being involved in public consultations and workshops. In exchange we’ll give you the experience and confidence to continue your career.
You will be a good communicator and enjoy working as part of a team, have enthusiasm and an interest in the natural and built environment. You should be educated to degree level or equivalent.
The post is based at our Beech Hurst offices in Andover.

We are looking for a capable, friendly and knowledgeable Chartered Town Planner to help coach and lead a team of Planning Officers. As a Principal Planning Officer you will be responsible for carrying out the Council’s Development Management functions within the Borough. This post is a wide ranging role which includes deputising for the Development Manager (North), day to day line management responsibility for professional Officers and case management of a limited number of significant major applications, pre-application enquiries, and appeals. Housing Options Officer

You will undertake “asset based” assessments with customers, meeting people in the office and in their homes, with a view to understanding the person and identifying and agreeing steps that can be taken by both the Council and the customer, to prevent and tackle homelessness in sustainable and appropriate ways.
The role includes assessing people under the new statutory homelessness framework and providing advice regarding the Council’s statutory duties to prevent and relieve homelessness. You will determine applications for assistance in accordance with all relevant legal requirements. You will also provide advice about the Housing Register, accessing temporary accommodation, and support people to secure private rented sector accommodation.
This role will require partnership working with a range of other agencies and organisations across the statutory and voluntary sectors.
Whilst we are open minded about relevant previous experience, a passion for helping customers, and a working knowledge of housing, landlord and tenant legislation, including issues such as protection from eviction and harassment, and welfare benefits, may be an advantage. Overall, however, your attitude may be the most important factor in securing this role.

We are looking for an evening cleaner to cover 2 sites in Romsey.

Working hours 5pm to 8pm Monday to Thursday and 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm Friday.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the toilet, kitchen facilities and offices throughout are in a safe and presentable condition and the cleaning has been carried out to the standards expected by the Council.
