Claim your Energy Rebate
Earlier this year the government announced a package of support known as the Energy Bills Rebate. This included a scheme called the Discretionary Fund. The Council will make a Discretionary Fund payment to the liable council tax payer (or an occupant where the property is exempt) where they meet one the following criteria on 1 April 2022:
• they receive Council Tax Support, and a member of the household is in receipt of Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payment; or
• they receive a Council Tax Disabled Band Reduction or Severely Mentally Impaired exemption
If you have received a letter about the Council Tax Energy Rebate Discretionary Fund you must submit your bank details by Friday 18 November 2022 or we will be unable to make a payment to you before the Government deadline.
