Some of the best places to eat across Test Valley will be receiving their Hampshire Hospitality Awards this week. The awards showcase the best Hampshire has to offer in the hospitality sector in terms of quality of food, the use of local produce and standard of service.

Funding for the awards was under threat recently so Test Valley Borough Council, Winchester City Council, Hampshire County Council and Tourism South East implemented a rescue plan to reinvigorate the awards.

Councillor Peter Giddings, the Economic Portfolio Holder at Test Valley Borough Council said "We are lucky to have so many good quality pubs and restaurants here in Test Valley. They play an important role in attracting the growing number of visitors and in stimulating a competitive local economy which is one of our corporate aims. I am very pleased that the Council was able to help rescue these awards because in these challenging economic times, it is good to see local businesses being rewarded”.

The 16 Test Valley eateries who have won awards after being assessed over recent months are:

All our winners demonstrated a commitment to the overall customer experience, from taste and presentation to friendliness and welcome. These awards are an excellent way to showcase and celebrate the best of what the county has to offer."
