Gold award for Visitor Information Centre

Staff at Romsey’s Visitor Information Centre are celebrating after scooping a gold award for its excellent service to tourists and residents in Test Valley.

The centre, which is funded by Test Valley Borough Council, was awarded the highest accolade in the 2017/18 Beautiful South Awards in the Visitor Information Service of the Year category after judging the site’s facilities, website and overall quality of information given to customers. It was refurbished earlier this year to offer visitors and tourists even more information about local attractions and places of interest.

Economic Development and Tourism Portfolio Holder, Councillor David Drew, said: “This is fantastic news for Romsey, particularly as there were more than 140 entries into the awards from across the region. It shows that the team is dedicated to providing an excellent service to its customers and it is great that this has been recognised. They are all so enthusiastic and I want to thank the team for their hard work.”

Julia West, Manager of the centre, said: “We are thrilled and delighted to be awarded gold in the Visitor Information Services category. The team prides itself on quality customer service at all times and we are all proud to serve and contribute to the Romsey and wider Test Valley community.”
