Summertime sparkle

On Wednesday, 28 June, Test Valley Borough Council’s Environmental Service visited the Kings Chase area of Andover to carry out a Sparkle Day.

The team spent time sweeping roads and paths, cutting grass and trimming shrubs. Between them they collected around 2.5 tonnes of waste and distributed information about waste and recycling to more than 160 households.

Environment Portfolio Holder, Councillor Graham Stallard said: “On this occasion the team collected some unusual waste including fly-tipped bikes, toys and white goods from a communal area. Fly-tipping is an offence and all reported cases are investigated by the Council’s Environmental Service. We were also joined by staff from Aster Communities who engaged with local residents.”

The next Sparkle Day will be in the Whinwhistle Road area of East Wellow on Friday, 28 July. For more information or to request a Sparkle Day, visit www.testvalley.gov.uk/love.
