Traditional Chinese medicine available in Romsey

Residents of Romsey have the opportunity to explore traditional Chinese medicines to combat ailments, thanks to a new shop that specialises in natural remedies.

Dr Yanbing Li, a consultant physician doctor, works with herbal medicines, candles, reflexology and traditional Chinese methods to re-balance chemicals in the body. Her treatments take a holistic approach to health in the form of therapeutic techniques such as acupuncture and massage, and her high levels of allergy testing mean that customers can trial remedies in advance to make sure they achieve the right results.

Romsey Abbey ward member, Councillor Ian Richards, presented Dr Yanbing with the first instalment of Test Valley Borough Council’s £1,000 Independent Retailer Grant at her clinic at 35 Church Street. He said: “Dr Yanbing has a great deal of experience in using traditional Chinese medicines and has spent a lot of time building up a client base through her previous sessions at Wellow Village Hall. It’s great to see that the business is thriving; I am sure it will continue to do so now that it has set up home in a town centre unit.”

Dr Yanbing added: “It’s been a busy few months but I’m really pleased that I’ve been able to expand the business. I love working with people and helping them find solutions to their health concerns. I’d like to thank Test Valley Borough Council for the grant and for supporting me on this journey.”

Recipients of the £1,000 grant receive £500 after three months of trading and a further £500 six months later. To be eligible for the grant, new or existing independent businesses must occupy a town centre ground floor unit which has been vacant for at least one month. Qualifying businesses include shops, restaurants and cafes.
