Local Plan

Local Plan

Legislation set out that planning applications should be determined in line with the Development Plan, or Local Plan, unless material considerations indicate otherwise. The Local Plan can be made up of multiple documents. It includes Development Plan Documents (DPDs) and Neighbourhood Development Plans (NDPs). Adopted and emerging DPDs prepared by the Council are available below, you will also need to account for such documents prepared by Hampshire County Council in relation to minerals and waste planning.

The Local Development Framework (LDF) is the name given to the new system of Development Plans, introduced by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. Rather than a single plan, the LDF takes the form of a portfolio of documents which collectively deliver the planning strategy and policies for Test Valley.
