Noise Nuisance
Many noise problems can be dealt with by the Council in a similar manner to other nuisance problems. Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, noise emitted from premises and noise from vehicles, machinery and equipment in the street are categories of nuisance problem that can be dealt with by the Council. Certain types of noise problems are not covered by any noise control legislation, for example road traffic, trains, aircraft and noise from military premises.

- Construction Sites Construction sites can cause nuisance to residents. If you have a problem then report it to the Council.
- Intruder Alarms Noise made by the operation of audible burglar alarms is a common cause of complaint.
- Noisy Neighbours If you have a noise problem with your neighbours - report it to the Council.
