Romsey TDS SPD

A Town Design Statement Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) for the Parishes of Romsey Town and the Crampmoor, Halterworth, Highwood, Ganger and Woodley parts of Romsey Extra  was adopted by the Council on 10 January 2008. This document now forms part of the Local Development (LDF) for the area. The LDF forms the basis for decisions on land use planning affecting those areas.

The SDP regulations require the following documents to be prepared to accompany the VDS as part of this exercise.

'Commendation for Good Practice' Award

Test Valley Borough Council and the Romsey and District Society were jointly presented with a planning award for 'Look at Romsey'. The project has been awarded a 'Commendation for Good Practice' Award in the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) South East Branch Planning Awards 2009. The award was presented by the RTPI President Martin Willey.

Other parties also involved and who gave their support to the project: Romsey Town Council, Romsey Extra Parish Council, Hampshire County Council including the County Councillors for Romsey Town and Romsey Extra, Town Centre Management in Test Valley, Great Woodley Residents Association and the Campaign to Protect Rural England.
