Local Recycling Centres

Local Recycling Centre

There is a network of almost 80 Local Recycling Centres in the borough which collect a variety of materials.  To find out which materials are collected at your nearest Local Recycling Centre, use Recycle Now's Bank Locator.

What can be recycled at a Local Recycling Centre?

Glass Bottles and Jars

Green, clear or brown glass. No ceramics, pyrex, wine glasses, spectacles or window panes.

Foil

To test if the foil is aluminium foil, scrunch it up in your hand. If it springs back then it is not suitable for recycling as it is a plastic foil.

Books

Periodicals, magazines, CDs, DVDs and pre-recorded audio and video cassettes.

Textiles

Clothing, footwear (in pairs), bedding, towelling and blankets.

Paper, Card, Plastic Bottles, Cans & Tins

These are the same items that we collect from your brown bin.

Cartons
Juice and soup cartons etc.

Please remember:

  • All non-recyclable waste must be taken to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre.
  • Bric-a-Brac should be taken to your local charity shop.
  • Cardboard can be put out for collection in your brown recycling bin
