What is a DBS check and will I need to complete one?
A Disclosure and Baring check are independent checks that an employer can request to check the criminal record of someone applying for a role. This is only requested where the role you have applied for meets the DBS criteria for support and interaction with children or vulnerable adults, or confidential information about them, or is a position included in the Exceptions Order 1975 of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. If your role requires a DBS check this is normally included in the job description and person specification and will be requested as part of our pre-employment checks.
