Climate Change Grant

The Climate Change grant is available to community groups and other not-for-profit community organisations for core works to improve their energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and / or deliver projects to improve community resilience to climate change.

  • Who can apply?
    • Not-for-profit community groups
    • Charitable community organisations
    • Community building and asset management committees
    • Community associations
    • Parish and Town Councils

    If your community organisation is not listed above, please do get in touch to check if you are eligible.

  • What can be applied for?

    Relevant organisations can apply for a grant of up to £10,000. Match funding of 20% of the total cost of the project will be required for grants of £5,000 or more. Anything less than £5,000 will not require match funding.

    A minimum of £250 will be set for grant applications.

    In order to be awarded funding through this grant, eligible applicants have to be able to provide evidence showing how the project or works will reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with community assets or improve community resilience to climate change. The supporting documents that are required with each application are outlined within the guidance notes in section 8.

  • How do I apply?
    • Please send the application form as a Word document. Applications must be typed, not handwritten.
    • Please view the guidance document, the ‘application form’ and other information for this grant to ensure your project is likely to be eligible.
    • Please contact climatechange@testvalley.gov.uk to discuss your project and establish whether it is likely to be eligible prior to submitting an application.     • We ask for one application form, so please talk to us if you have any questions when applying as only one application will be accepted. We will not accept resubmissions of an application prior to reaching a decision on whether to award a grant.
    • The decision of awarding the grant is down to the council and their decision is final.
    • Submit your application to climatechange@testvalley.gov.uk.

    Please do not submit your application unless you have sent all of the documents outlined in section 5 of the application form. Your application will not be considered unless all of the documents have been submitted.
