Rural Communities Fund
OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS
A new grant scheme has been launched by Hampshire County Council to support Hampshire’s rural communities. It is a combination of four schemes you may already be familiar with but with a stronger focus on rural communities and encouraging projects that will build community resilience and encourage self-help.
What can you apply for
- Community-led flood alleviation – you can apply for up to £10,000 to help deliver solutions to flooding in your local area, that will benefit both people and property e.g. improving drainage; feasibility studies.
- Countryside access – you can apply for up to £5,000 to help deliver improvements to your local access network e.g. surface improvements to your local paths; changing stiles to gates.
- Rural retailers and community enterprises – you can apply for up to £10,000 to help your business/enterprise grow, increase productivity and ultimately improve the services that are offered to your local community e.g. improvements to the sales area to allow a greater range of stock; setting up a shop in your local village hall.
- Other – you can apply for up to £5,000 towards other projects that will help build community resilience and/or encourage self-help in your local community e.g. supporting vulnerable and older people; supporting innovative transport solutions to access services.
When to apply
Applications for up to £5,000 are accepted throughout the year. For applications over £5,000 the deadlines for 2017 are: 21 July; 8 September; 8 December.
