Andover Junior Graduation
The Andover Junior Graduation ceremony congratulates year six students as they move from primary or junior school on to secondary school and encourages them and their parents or carers to consider higher education in future years.
The ceremony was first held in 2008 and since then over 3000 year six students have partaken in the event. 127 students took part in the 2008 graduation and due to its success over 470 participated this year.
Students are congratulated by the Mayor of Test Valley and receive a graduation certificate from the University of Winchester before being welcomed into the secondary sector by one of the three secondary head teachers in Andover.
Leader of the Council, Councillor Ian Carr, Said: "The Andover Junior Graduation is always an inspiring occasion which gives the children and their parents and teachers an opportunity to look back on what they have achieved during their time at school. It's also a perfect chance to look to the future and start to introduce the children to the options that will be available to them in the coming years."
Test Valley Borough Council funds and organises the event with the support of the University of Winchester.

The report was undertaken by the Southern Policy Centre, funded by the Higher Education Funding Council (HEFCE) and GuildHE and supported by the Southern Universities Network. The Council was represented on the steering group that undertook the analysis and produced the report.
