Youth Employment Hub

Working alongside three other authorities, Test Valley Borough Council has launched a face-to-face and online support service to help young people across the Borough to find employment and enhance career prospects.

Eastleigh Borough Council, Test Valley Borough Council, New Forest District Council and Winchester City Council have joined together to launch the “Central and West Hampshire Youth Employment Hub” to connect, listen to and provide solutions for young people to develop skills, find training opportunities and seek advice on employment.

This fully-funded project aims to reduce the barriers for young people aged 16-24.

This is now even more important as Covid 19 has impacted on their education and employment opportunities.

The Central and West Hampshire Youth Employment Hub, in partnership with department of Work and Pensions, will be providing face-to-face support from 1 November 2021 at a variety of locations within each of the four local authority areas.

At the hub, young people will be able to gain help, support and advice on a range of training and employment opportunities and will be informed about local activities, such as local youth groups, sports clubs, drama, art groups and activity sessions.

Examples of Support Provided:

  • writing CV's and completing application forms
  • attending interviews
  • traineeships and apprenticeships
  • training courses
  • online platform
  • mentoring support/job coaching
