Test Valley Borough Council own a range of sports sites across Test Valley, most of our sites which serve a daily function to the community are managed by our Leisure Provider, Places Leisure as part of a long term contract. Managing these facilities in this way ensures the provision of quality facilities and services, run by a well-established and renowned provider who can ensure residents are being supported to lead healthy, active lifestyles across Test Valley.

Places Leisure currently operate four facilities within Test Valley;

 

Andover Leisure Centre:

This new state of the art leisure centre was opened to the public in April 2019. The facility has a multi-purpose gym, dedicated spinning studio, sports hall, squash courts, main and learner pool and water confidence area. In addition to this there are also 3 studios, a crèche, soft play area and clip and climb activity section.

 

Charlton Lakeside

Charlton Lakeside is a facility on Test Valleys largest open space. Places Leisure run the boating activities, 18 hole par 3 golf course and crazy golf facilities onsite. For information about the other activities at Charlton please visit the Sport and Activities section of the website.

 

Romsey Sports Complex:

This site is made up of Romsey Sports Centre and Romsey Rapids. Romsey Rapids facilities include a 3 lane swimming pool, learner pool and leisure pool, a new (opened in May 2019) health suite with infra-red sauna, multipurpose gym and toning centre. As well as a dedicated spinning studio and 3 further fitness studios.

Romsey Sports Centre hosts 2 squash courts, sports changing for the onsite sports pitches, crazy golf and a crèche. Additional facilities onsite include a playground, skate park, outdoor fitness equipment and community tennis courts (courts are booked through Romsey and Abbey Tennis Club directly).

 

Knightwood Leisure Centre

This site in the heart of Valley Park is made up of the following facilities, a gym, 1 court hall, changing facilities for the sports pitches, outdoor floodlight tennis and netball courts and two 5- a side football pitches, as well as 2 grass football pitches and a cricket pitch. The site also has a MUGA, skate park, playground, outdoor fitness equipment and BMX track which are free for the public to access.
