The Village Design Statement for the Parish of Braishfield was adopted by the Council as a Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) on 3rd April 2002 following a resolution by the Executive Committee.
It aims to record what is special about Braishfield in the view of its residents. It describes the existing looks and feel of the village, identifies its specific characteristics and highlights the features of the village that we value.
It contains recommendations that arise from the description of Braishfield's local distinctiveness. The recommendations are important because they aim to offer guidelines on conserving the particular qualities of the village and to contribute towards the improvement of rural design in general.
This document forms part of the basis for decisions on land use planning affecting the area.
