Set in the heart of picturesque Hampshire and home to the world famous River Test chalk stream, Test Valley is a beautiful part of the country, brimming with nature and stunning landscapes. But while that may conjure images of a sleepy, rural idyll, we’ve also got bags of ambition and huge potential. There are exciting times ahead – and we want you to be part of them!

We’re working with nationally and internationally renowned private sector partners to transform our two main town centres in Andover and Romsey. These are both major, multi-million pound, once in a generation (and once in a career) projects. And we’ve just announced the biggest changes to our waste collection services in almost two decades. So this definitely won’t be life in the slow lane!

As Deputy Chief Executive, you’ll put the needs of Test Valley’s people first in everything you do, providing opportunities for our 130,000 residents to live fulfilling lives in a place where everyone is encouraged to succeed. Strong community engagement is vital to our future, and so the ability to connect, enthuse and collaborate with a diverse range of communities is essential.

You’ll build on some great achievements and join an experienced political and officer leadership team with a clear and ambitious vision. You’ll provide strong, collaborative leadership and strive to deliver high quality services, reinforce astute financial management and strengthen partnerships. And with your excellent people skills, you’ll be a capable ambassador who works effectively with stakeholders.
