First Homes
First Homes is a new affordable housing tenure which enables qualifying buyers to purchase a property with a discount of 30% from the open market value, and these homes will be sold by developers as part of the affordable housing mix on developments in Test Valley.
The First Homes Interim Policy Statement provides guidance to developers on the delivery of First Homes in Test Valley, as well as guidance to prospective purchasers on eligibility criteria.
There are currently no First Homes with planning permission in Test Valley, but details will be added to our website on the New Affordable Homes page as and when homes have secured planning permission and are on site. First Homes will be directly marketed by developers, and prospective purchasers will be guided through the application process by the developer and referred to Test Valley Borough Council for an eligibility check. There is no need to register on any waiting list.
