Test Valley Borough Council is offering a number of fantastic apprenticeship opportunities for anyone looking to kick start their career while they study for a recognised qualification.

The authority has joined forces with the Hampshire Apprentice Partnership to provide a career path for people who also wish to study part-time. Test Valley Borough Council is currently offering opportunities for apprenticeships at the Council in a wide range of services including Finance, Human Resources, Housing and Environmental Health, Revenues and Customer Services.

The new apprenticeships will see participants working towards a relevant NVQ such as Business Administration or Customer Services. The exciting new roles and associated training will be ideal for anyone looking to gain valuable experience in areas such as customer service and project management, and to improve presentation and communication skills. Successful candidates will also benefit from the full support of a mentor who will help them to settle in and achieve their work and educational goals.

Dan Weeks is currently in his second year of a Business Administration apprenticeship. He said: “I really liked the idea of learning while working. I studied IT for two years at Andover College so the chance to start an apprenticeship made perfect sense. The staff are incredibly helpful and I would recommend Test Valley Borough Council as a place to work.”

Leader of the Council, Councillor Ian Carr, said: “Test Valley Borough Council is committed to supporting people to develop their careers. The opportunities are open to anyone who wishes to study and work at the same time, so we would ask anyone who is interested to submit an application. I am looking forward to welcoming new apprentices to the Council.”

Anyone interested in applying for an apprenticeship should visit the Apprenticeships page for further details about the range of opportunities available.
