Celebrating independent and small businesses
Small businesses across Test Valley treated shoppers to unmissable deals at the weekend as they celebrated Small Business Saturday.
Andover Town Centre Partnership and Romsey Chamber of Commerce, supported by Test Valley Borough Council, the Federation of Small Businesses and Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, celebrated Small Business Saturday on 3 December.
In Andover, The Lights theatre hosted a Food and Gift Fair, which was full of handmade crafts, jewellery and delicious treats, while in Romsey, the Town Hall was packed with local retailers promoting their products and services. Local MPs Kit Malthouse and Caroline Nokes also attended the events to show their support for the borough’s small businesses.
Economic Portfolio Holder, Councillor Peter Giddings, said: “Small businesses are a vital part of our local economy and it was great to see retailers taking part in the celebrations. The events up and down the borough were the perfect opportunity for shoppers to start their Christmas shopping at the same time as supporting our small businesses.”
