Beauty career make-over with help of Council grant

An experienced beauty therapist has received a £750 grant from Test Valley Borough Council for her new entrepreneurial venture, Evie’s Beauty.

An experienced beauty therapist has received a £750 grant from Test Valley Borough Council for her new entrepreneurial venture, Evie’s Beauty.

After Evie Harvey’s former employer relocated, she took the opportunity to set up Evie’s Beauty and continues to offer the same service to new and existing clients. Evie and her business partner, Sam Perry, work as self-employed beauty therapists in the former Bliss Beauty premises, at 34 East Street, Andover.

Evie said: “I am so excited to have launched my own beauty enterprise with the business expertise of the Council and the help and support of my family and friends. The Council’s Business Incentive Grant has been really helpful and I am very grateful to them for their support.”

St Mary’s ward member, Councillor Iris Anderson, presented the cheque to Evie and said: “Evie has worked very hard to set up Evie’s Beauty and turned what could have been a difficult situation into an excellent business opportunity. I know the business will continue to grow and I wish her every success for the future.”

The Council’s £750 Business Incentive Grants are available to anyone looking to set up their own business in Test Valley. Budding entrepreneurs should apply for the grant before they start their company and if it is still going strong six months later, they will receive the cheque.
