Test Valley Borough Council has a number of exciting apprenticeships available this year for those looking for an opportunity to boost their career.
The Council is part of the Hampshire Apprentice Partnership that consists of four councils in Hampshire who have developed an apprentice programme, providing an alternative learning journey to college or university.
The apprenticeships are available in a wide range of services, including Housing and Environmental Health, Revenues, Customer Services and Environmental Services. The new roles and training will be ideal for anyone looking to gain valuable experience in areas such as customer service or grounds maintenance.
As an apprentice working as part of a team with experienced colleagues, you will learn valuable skills on the job while also studying for a relevant NVQ such as Business Administration, Customer Services or even a Level Two qualification in Horticulture.
You will also work alongside other apprentices on small projects and take part in a monthly skills programme, which includes topics like project management, communication and presentation skills. A mentor will be available to support you to achieve your goals, both in working with the Council and in your studies.
Amber Patel is currently working with the HR team as part of her apprenticeship. She said: “An apprenticeship appealed to me as it is an excellent way to study but also learn invaluable skills that come from working in a team of experienced staff. My team have been very supportive, I have made good friends and also improved my prospects for the future. Test Valley Borough Council is a great place to do an apprenticeship and I would recommend it to other people.”
