The popular annual Nursling and Rownhams May Fair received an extra financial boost this year thanks to a £750 Councillor Community Grant.

Test Valley Borough Council ward members for Chilworth, Nursling and Rownhams, Councillor Nigel Anderdon, Councillor Phil Bundy and Councillor Alison Finlay, awarded the organisers with the grant to help to fund its activities.

May Fair includes numerous stalls from local businesses, community groups and charities. There are also fairground rides, a bouncy castle, a dog show, arena displays and dance performances for visitors to enjoy.

Councillor Phil Bundy said: “The Nursling and Rownhams May Fair has been a prominent day in the local calendar for several years now and our residents enjoy the combination of modern and traditional activities. We are very pleased that we have been able to support this popular community event.”

Test Valley Borough Council’s Councillor Community Grant scheme helps to fund community-led initiatives that are identified as meeting a need in the community, based on feedback from residents.
