Second instalment of grant for Skin Spa

A beauty therapist in Romsey has been presented with the second instalment of Test Valley Borough Council’s £1,000 Independent Retailer Grant.

With more than 25 years of experience in the industry, Kylee-Jayne Tyrrell opened Skin Spa in April 2016 and has continued to make the business a success. The salon offers a wide range of treatments from manicures, pedicures, waxing and massage, to prescribed facials and advanced skin treatments.

Abbey ward member, Councillor Ian Richards, said: “Kylee-Jayne is incredibly experienced and she treats her clients with the upmost respect and care. It’s great to see the business thriving in its first year and this is down to Kylee’s hard work and determination. I am pleased to present her with the second instalment of the grant and I wish her the best of luck in the future.”

Kylee-Jayne added: “It’s been a very busy year but definitely worthwhile! I’m really grateful for the Council’s support and we are feeling very settled in our Romsey home. We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and exceptionally high standards and I’d welcome anyone to get in touch if they are interested in finding out more about what we offer.”

Recipients of the £1,000 grant receive £500 after three months of trading and a further £500 six months later. To be eligible for the grant, new or existing independent businesses must occupy a town centre ground floor unit which has been vacant for at least one month. Qualifying businesses include shops, restaurants and cafes.
