Temporary pool is open
The temporary swimming pool for Andover opened to the public at 12 midday today (Friday 20 October 2017)
Leisure Portfolio Holder, Councillor Tony Ward said: “I am delighted that the temporary pool is open and that residents will be able to enjoy swimming again. I have watched the facility take shape over the last few months and feel the word “temporary” belies the end product. I wanted to ensure people were still able to benefit from the use of a high standard first-class pool while the new ALC is being built and so I am really glad it is now in place and open for use.
“Although there were delays in the timetable, which were very frustrating for everyone, I hope that residents will now take full advantage of having this facility available until the new swimming pool opens in Spring 2019. “
The 25 metre, four lane modular pool at Shepherds Spring Lane car park has been designed and built by Total Swimming and is being managed by Places for People Leisure.https://www.placesforpeopleleisure.org/centres/andover-leisure-centre/news/temporary-pool-news-updates/
