Teen entrepreneur receives grant

Budding entrepreneur, Ella Ridley has received a £750 Business Incentive Grant from Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC), following the launch of her business, Lively Fox.

Ella, who is just 19 years old, sells a variety of unique gifts including keyrings, cards, jewellery and engraved glass, all made using a very high specification laser cutter. Ella sells these through local businesses and events, as well as through online platforms including Facebook and Etsy.

North Baddesley ward member, Councillor Ann Tupper presented the cheque to Ella. She said: “It is fantastic that at such a young age Ella has had the ambition to launch her own company and the commitment to make it work. I hope Ella’s business grows from strength to strength.”

Ella added: “I’m really enjoying running my own business. I have been well supported by my friends and family, as well as members of Hampshire Women’s Business group and TVBC. The grant from TVBC has really helped me in the early days of the business, something I’m really grateful for.”

The Council’s Business Incentive Grants are available to anyone looking to set up their own business in Test Valley. Anyone who successfully applies for the grant will receive a grant of £750 if their business is still going strong six months later.
