Holocaust Memorial Day 2020

Test Valley Borough Council will be holding a tree planting and flying flags at half-mast to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day.

The day remembers all those impacted and affected by the atrocity during the Second World War, and councillors will come together to join the Mayor of Test Valley in planting a commemorative tree later today in Beech Hurst Park, Andover.

Flags will also be flown at half-mast at all council buildings as a sign of remembrance.

Holocaust Memorial Day takes place every year, which encourages remembrance for those who endured genocide, and to honour the survivors and all those whose lives were changed beyond recognition.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz and also marks the 25th anniversary of the Genocide in Bosnia.
