Hairdresser opens new salon in Andover with council support

Hairdresser Anastasiia has opened a new salon in Andover town centre, supported by a £750 Business Incentive Grant from Test Valley Borough Council.

Anastasiia Potashna opened her salon on the upper floor of 12 High Street in January, bringing her professional experience from Ukraine to the local community. The new business offers a range of hairdressing services in Andover’s town centre.

Anastasiia said: “The support from the council has made a big difference to help get me started, both with the grant and the small business support service. The salon has been redecorated, and I look forward to welcoming new clients.”

The Business Incentive Grant is part of the council’s wider commitment to supporting local enterprise and helping new businesses establish themselves in the borough.

Councillor Iris Andersen, who represents the St Mary’s ward, said: “It’s wonderful to see Anastasiia bringing her skills and experience to Andover. I’m delighted that the council is able to support her in launching this exciting new venture. We wish her every success.”

Test Valley Borough Council is committed to supporting local businesses through various initiatives and grants. The Business Incentive Grant is designed to help new businesses located in Test Valley achieve their goals and contribute to the local economy. You must apply for the grant within eight weeks of starting to trade, and the Council will award the money once you have been up and running for a minimum of six months.
