Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA)
The SHLAA is a technical document which provides information on potential housing sites submitted by landowners and their agents in relation to their availability, suitability, and achievability. There is a requirement to prepare a SHLAA and it has informed development decisions made in the Council’s Revised Local Plan. The SHLAA does not allocate housing sites and the inclusion of a site within this document does not imply that the Council would necessarily grant planning permission for residential use or be allocated for development.
Since the last review of the SHLAA in July 2014 (to provide a position as at 1st April 2014), a number of additional sites were promoted to the Council during a Call for Sites consultation exercise in June 2015. These new sites have been included in an Addendum, along with any updates to existing sites within the current SHLAA. The purpose of the SHLAA Addendum is to provide a position as at 1st April 2015.
Since the SHLAA Addendum was published, two additional sites have been promoted. Details of SHLAA Sites 323 and 324 are available to be downloaded.
The SHLAA will be superseded by the Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA). Further details of the SHELAA can be found here
