Longparish VDS
This Village Design Statement (VDS) for the Parish of Longparish was adopted by the Council as Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) on 23rd April 2003, following a recommendation from the Executive Committee on 9th April 2003.
The VDS describes Longparish as it is today. By looking at issues like the evolution of the village, its patterns of settlement, landscape, roads and buildings, it highlight the qualities that local residents value and would like to see in any future development. The intention is not to stop change in the village, but to encourage development that preserves and enhances the special character of the village.
This document forms part of the basis for decisions on land use planning affecting the area.
