Bulky Waste Collection Service - Alternatives

There are a number of alternatives to a chargeable Bulky Waste Collection:

• donate your items for re-use to organisations such as the
  • British Heart Foundation
  • Emmaus Hampshire (covers south Test Valley only)
  • Oxfam Furniture Shop
  • SCRATCH (covers south Test Valley only)
  • Sue Ryder (covers north and south Test Valley, but not central e.g. Stockbridge)
  • Ugly Duckling
• take your items to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre
• recycle your items through free listing services such as Freecycle and Recycle 
• donate your items to charities, second-hand shops or jumble sales
• contact a house clearance company - ensuring they are authorised to carry waste
• ask the retailer to take back the old item
• sell your items in the small ads of your local paper
• ensure that anyone carrying out work at your property takes away any waste they produce
• hire a skip
• home compost or shred any garden waste
