Taxi Driver's Code of Conduct - Consultation

Taxi driver consultation

We have lots of amazing private hire drivers across the borough, and we want to work with them to introduce a new set of standards and behaviours that will apply to all drivers while at work, whether they operate taxis or Hackney Carriages, also known as black cabs. This means that customers will know what to expect when they hop in a cab, and our drivers understand what is expected of them. It also means that we can make sure that they’re the right type of person for the job.

To achieve that, we’ve created a draft code of conduct, which explains the standards and behaviours. And we want your feedback so you can let us know if you think we’ve got it right, or if there’s anything missing.

Once you’ve had a look at the draft code of conduct, which you can find on the right-hand side of this page, please take a couple of minutes to fill out our short survey below. It’s only five questions, so it’s super quick to complete, but it will make a big difference in helping to make sure we’re on the right track.

Test Valley Borough Council would be grateful for the input of both drivers and their customers by completing the survey here. This survey will close on Friday 31 May 2024
