George joined TVBC straight after finishing his A-levels in 2016. The Council proved a great platform for him to learn new skills and to begin building his career from having limited work experience prior. Since completing his apprenticeship, George has worked various roles across different service areas of the Council and has gained valuable knowledge and skills along the way. He has recently accepted a new role as a Democratic & Community Resilience Officer.

Since George started at the Council nearly 9 years ago, he has always enjoyed the friendly environment TVBC provides. George has found that the support from colleagues and the opportunities given to grow and develop are some of the best aspects of working here. He is looking forward to continuing his development journey at Test Valley.

George started as an apprentice which was a great platform for him to learn key skills at a more junior level and adjust to a full time working environment. He has now been able to tailor his skills into a new role which is designed to support communities in becoming resilient in emergency situations. Throughout this year, George will be undertaking courses in Civil Contingencies and Asset Based Community Development to support his further development.
