Public Art Programme
Augusta Open Space, Art in the Park
Public Art Commission Andover
Following the Augusta Open Space community engagement project we are now in phase two of commissioning artworks for the East Anton development in Andover, commonly known as Augusta Park. Bernie Rutter and Denis O’Connor of Sculpture Works have been awarded the major commission to create the two landmark sculptures for Augusta Park. They commence the project this September with events at Endeavour Primary School and a ‘Meet The Artists’ afternoon at the Augusta Park Community Centre. Please join us form 2pm to 5:30 on Saturday 23 September to discuss ideas and look at examples of artworks with the artists. This project is part of Test Valley’s public art programme and funded by developer contributions for public art for East Anton.
Four Fun Fridays
Andover town centre arts event programme
Four Fun Fridays was established in 2016 as a way to engage a wide variety of people with arts events, performance, street theatre and workshops in the town centre setting. It runs every Friday in August in Andover High Street and is completely free. The event programme was created in response to feedback from residents who have taken part in consultation projects including The Encounters Shop and The Andover Vision.
“The overall vision for the future of Andover was of a colourful, vibrant place with something for everyone and at its heart, a sense of a caring community.”
It is part of Test Valley’s public art programme and funded by off site developer contributions for public art in Andover from the Andover Business Park. Four Fun Fridays in 2017 saw a range of street performers, workshops providers and organisations all celebrating the fun of being outdoors in Andover.
