Public Art Programme

Across the Test Valley there is an abundance of new development including new communities and housing, schools, community centres and business parks. Due to these new developments Test Valley are managing a portfolio of Section 106 contributions specifically for public art.

We manage these contributions by commissioning artists and arts organisations to work alongside communities and develop bespoke art work that is meaningful and relevant to the people and the places in which they are for.

Our public art strategy provides a framework for future commissions in the Borough and helps to ensure high quality art projects that benefit communities in Test Valley. It sets out key themes for commissioning including, accessibility of artworks, aesthetic integrity, interactivity and relationship to people and place.

Through our aims of interactivity and relationship to people and place we are also looking beyond commissioning permanent and site specific art to investing in temporary public art projects that engage communities and enhance their lives through events and activities.

Forthcoming commissions include:

East Anton (Offsite), Andover

Picket Twenty, Andover

Picket Piece, Andover

Picket Twenty Extension

Poetry in Motion, Andover

Riverside Park, Andover

Parkers Farm, Rownhams

Redbridge Lane, Nursling
