Fishing at Rooksbury Mill Local Nature Reserve

Located just of the A303 south of Andover town centre, Rooksbury Mill Local Nature Reserve has been transformed from a privately owned trout fishery into a Local Nature Reserve following the council’s purchase of the site in 2001.

Mill Lake is a river fed 2.6ha (6.5 acres) lake offering 12 generously spaced swims, three of which are Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant, positioned close to the car park, and with level gravel paths giving easy access. You’ll find a downloadable map showing the locations of the swims on the right of this page.

Mill Lake is a naturally stocked lake offering a range of species to be caught in a peaceful setting.

  • roach
  • rudd
  • perch
  • bream
  • pike

Paying to fish at Rooksbury Mill

To fish at Mill Lake, you’ll need a national fishing rod licence and to purchase a day or season ticket.

Tickets are not available on the bank.

The park is accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs and has a car park which is suitable for coaches (access for coaches should be pre-arranged with a Countryside Officer – contact details below).
