Extra Care & Housing for Persons Aged 55 and Over
Extra Care Housing in Test Valley
Extra Care housing is offered by Hampshire County Council in partnership with Test Valley Borough Council. In Test Valley there are currently two Extra Care schemes in Andover and one in Romsey.
Extra Care housing allows individuals who need some extra help to look after themselves but do not require the level of care provided by a care home. Extra Care accommodation is self-contained, with care staff available 24/7 to provide planned personal care & support and to respond in case of an emergency.
Extra Care is different from residential care as it offers people their own flat in a safe and supportive environment in buildings close to local facilities. You have your own home and front door, so family and friends are free to visit when they wish.
The housing is suitable for those aged 55 or over who have an active Hampshire Home Choice application and have eligible care needs as assessed by the Adults' Health and Care department at Hampshire County Council.
