Summertime sparkle!

Sparkle Day team visits Old Winton Road

On Wednesday, 29 June, Test Valley Borough Council’s Sparkle Day team visited the Old Winton Road part of Andover to clean and tidy the area. The team swept roads and paths, cleared litter, cut back shrubs and cleaned bins and signs.

Environmental Portfolio Holder, Councillor Graham Stallard, said: “Once again, the team carried out a fantastic Sparkle Day and I’d like to thank everyone for helping. I would also like to thank Manuela Wahnon, a local anti-litter campaigner, for coming along and helping on the day. We are always happy to welcome volunteers who are keen to help keep their local area clean and tidy.”

In total, the team removed almost three tonnes of waste and distributed information to more than 400 households to encourage them to recycle more and waste less. The next Sparkle Days will take place on Thursday, 28 July in the Ringwood Drive area of North Baddesley, and Anna Fields, Andover, on 23 September.
