Grant awarded to new beauty business
Gemma receives Business Incentive Grant
Test Valley Borough Council has presented Gemma Brooks with a £500 Business Incentive Grant to reward her hard work launching her new business, Beauty by Gemma.
Beauty by Gemma is based at the Tutti Frutti salon on Weyhill Road and benefits from passing trade and existing salon clients. Gemma is a qualified beauty therapist and has worked with clients across Test Valley for many years.
Gemma said: “I had been considering launching my own business for a couple of years so I was really pleased when the opportunity came up last year. The first few months of trading have been great and it’s really nice to be working in a salon that offers other treatments that complement mine. It has been a busy few months but definitely worthwhile. I’d like to thank Test Valley Borough Council for the Business Incentive Grant which has helped me during the early stages of the launch.”
Millway ward member, Councillor Sandra Hawke, said: “Gemma has already built a strong client base and is in the perfect location to grow this further. She is a very talented and experienced beauty therapist, who offers a tailored and unique service, and I wish her the very best of luck with her new venture.”
The Council’s Business Incentive Grants are available to anyone looking to set up their own business in Test Valley. Anyone who successfully applies for the grant after 1 April 2016 will receive a grant of £750 if their business is still going strong six months later.
