Sparkling in spring

The Suffolk Road area of Andover is sparkling!

Test Valley Borough Council’s Sparkle Day team visited the Suffolk Road area of Andover on Friday, 22 April, to help add a touch of shine to the area.

The team swept roads, cleared litter, cleaned signs and bins, removed graffiti and cut back overgrown hedges. In total, the team removed approximately three tonnes of waste and distributed information about recycling to more than 200 homes.

Environmental Portfolio Holder, Councillor Graham Stallard, was pleased the day was such a success. He said: “Once again, I’d like to say a big thank you to the Sparkle Day team for all their hard work. I would also like to offer a special thank you to anti-litter campaigner, Manuela Wahnon for her help with litter picking too. The area looks fantastic!”

The next Sparkle Day will be held in the Great Well Drive and Mercer Way area of Romsey on Monday, 16 May 2016.
