Council calls for creative children!

We're looking for budding designers

Artistic children have another reason to get creative with colour as Test Valley Borough Council launches its next challenge for budding designers. The authority is calling for primary school children to design a vehicle banner which will encourage more people to recycle their glass bottles and jars.

Two lucky winners, one each from the north and south of the borough, will see their designs enlarged and displayed on a waste collection vehicle. The winners will also receive a pair of tickets to a Christmas show at The Lights as well as some Recycling Star goodies. Entries should be bright, creative and eye-catching, and must be submitted by 4 November.

Environmental Portfolio Holder, Councillor Graham Stallard, said: “We received around 500 entries to our summer drawing competition so we know that children love to get involved in helping us to spread the message about the benefits of recycling. We are looking forward to seeing their bright and colourful designs.”

The Council has distributed entry forms to all primary schools in the borough. Anyone else who is interested in entering the competition can download a copy or pick up an entry form from Beech Hurst, Andover, or the Former Magistrates’ Court, Romsey. The two winners will be announced by 11 November.
