A local beauty therapist has been awarded a £750 Business Incentive Grant from Test Valley Borough Council, in recognition of her hard work setting up her new beauty salon, Tranquil.
A local beauty therapist has been awarded a £750 Business Incentive Grant from Test Valley Borough Council, in recognition of her hard work setting up her new beauty salon, Tranquil.
Carol Pude opened her new salon in unit 204 of The Commercial Centre in Picket Piece and the newly renovated salon provides a serene and relaxing environment. Carol, who has over eight diplomas in specialist techniques, offers a variety of treatments, including facials, threading, Hopi ear candling and Swedish body massage. As well as providing a waxing service for women, Carol also specialises in facial and body waxing for men.
Carol said: “I would like to thank the Council for the Business Incentive Grant and for their support in my new business. I am so excited about being able to pursue a beauty therapy career in a way that allows me to work flexibly around my family life. I am also looking forward to building my client base and will be offering a loyalty card for all the treatments on offer.”
St Mary’s ward member, Councillor Iris Andersen presented the £750 cheque and said: “Carol has put a huge amount of time and effort into her beauty therapy training and setting up her new business and I am delighted to award her this grant. I am sure that Tranquil will be a popular salon and I wish her great success for the future.”
The Council’s £750 Business Incentive Grants are available to anyone looking to set up their own business in Test Valley. Budding entrepreneurs should apply for the grant before they start their company and if it is still going strong six months later, they will receive the cheque.
