Visitor Guide winner announced

The Mayor selects winner of prize draw

Tina Downs from Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, has won the 2016 Test Valley Visitor Guide prize draw.

Tina has won a delicious three course dinner and bed and breakfast for two adults at The White Horse Hotel and Brasserie in Romsey. The 14th-century boutique hotel offers a brasserie and bright, elegant rooms in the heart of the market town just a few yards away from Romsey Abbey.

Tina said: “One of our favourite things about visiting our friends in Andover is our long leisurely Sunday morning walks in the beautiful countryside which are rounded off with lunch in a charming country pub. We are thrilled to have won a stay at the White Horse in Romsey and already have Romsey Abbey, a spot of boutique shopping and, of course, the New Forest on our list of ‘must dos’.

Paul Bingham, General Manager of the White Horse Hotel and Brasserie, said: “We are extremely happy for the winner to receive the prize and we look forward to meeting them soon.”

The Mayor chose Tina at random from a large number of people who entered the draw. The 2017 edition of the Test Valley Visitor Guide will be launched at Excursions, an exhibition which promotes travel and tourism in the south of England, at Alexandra Palace, London, on 28 January 2017. The guide is packed with unmissable attractions and events and photos of stunning scenery, and readers will also be able to learn about the borough’s fantastic accommodation and eateries.

Visitors and local residents will be able to pick up a copy of the 2017 Test Valley Visitor Guide at Tourist Information Centres and other regional places of interest.
