A successful entrepreneurial Romsey shop owner is celebrating after receiving the second instalment of a £1,000 Test Valley Borough Council Independent Retailer Grant.

Denize Lloyd-Wickens of fashion boutique, Inz.pired, opened her three-floor shop in Romsey town centre after she and her husband spent months refurbishing the unit and preparing to sell women’s clothing, jewellery, handbags and shoes.

Abbey ward member, Councillor Ian Richards, said: “Inz.pired has quickly become a popular boutique in the heart of the town centre and I’d like to congratulate Denize on making it so successful. The Council is committed to supporting local businesses and Denize’s contribution to the local economy is greatly appreciated.”

Recipients of the £1,000 grant receive £500 after three months of trading and a further £500 six months later. To be eligible for the grant, new or existing independent businesses must occupy a town centre ground floor unit which has been vacant for at least one month. Qualifying businesses include shops, restaurants and cafes.
