Help is at hand in new directory

Support for local group

Andover and District Older People’s Forum has published two useful information directories to help people without access to a computer to find out about local services and facilities.

The new Phone A Friend directories provide information about public transport services, local groups and clubs and community events. They also provide contact details of tradespeople, libraries and other places of interest. The directories will be distributed to residents of Stockbridge, Broughton and Houghton, and will also be available in GP surgeries.

The printing of the new resources was made possible by a Councillor Community Grant which was awarded by the Broughton and Stockbridge ward borough councillors, Councillor Peter Boulton and Councillor Daniel Busk.

Councillor Peter Boulton said: “I am pleased to support the publication of such a fantastic resource for local people. Not everyone has access to a computer or the internet, so it’s very important that we ensure that information about local services is easily available.”

Test Valley Borough Council’s Councillor Community Grant scheme helps to fund community-led initiatives that are identified as meeting a need in the community, based on feedback from residents.
