Lucky visitor wins a stay in a Test Valley hotel

A Chichester resident who visited Test Valley last year is the lucky winner of another stay in the borough.

Derek Randall entered Test Valley Borough Council’s 2017 Visitor Guide prize draw when exploring Romsey and its surrounding villages last spring. During his stay, he visited Romsey Abbey, King John’s House and Heritage Centre, Romsey Visitor Information Centre and local shops and restaurants. The Mayor of Test Valley, Councillor Carl Borg-Neal, picked his name from a hat among all the entries received throughout the year.

Mr Randall’s prize includes dinner, bed and breakfast for two adults at the Potters Heron Hotel in Ampfield, one of Hampshire’s finest venues offering quality accommodation, great food and the perfect picturesque setting. He said: “I’m delighted to have won this fantastic prize. Test Valley is a beautiful borough and I’m really pleased to have the opportunity to go back. There is still so much of the area I’d like to explore.”

Economic Development and Tourism Portfolio Holder, Councillor David Drew, added: “The Test Valley Visitor Guide prize draw is a great way of gaining valuable feedback about how the guide is being used and the places people are visiting. The new 2018 guide is now out, so if you’re ever stuck for ideas for things to do or see, make sure you pick up a copy from your local Visitor Information Centre or download it from www.testvalley.gov.uk. You’ll be spoilt for choice!”

The 2018 Visitor Guide is available from Visitor Information Centres, libraries and other places of interest in and around Hampshire.
